If you joined FarmLens without a subscription, we automatically assign the output resolution of your mosaics as 30 cm/pixel. This is a trade-off we've decided on between processing time, the value of the output image for the average user, and the size of the output imagery. However, if you are a pro subscriber, we do give you the option to output your imagery at significantly higher resolutions and you can also select if you want a Digital Surface Map (DSM). You normally select this when creating your upload, but you can also choose any of your old data to be processed at higher resolutions.
Note: At the time of writing this, the "New Export" page will let you select all the way down to 2 cm/pixel, but this may not apply to all data. The maximum resolution of your output mosaic will depend on the type of camera and the altitude of the flight. It's also worth noting that exporting at higher resolutions can cause significant delays in output and very large output files that may not render in non-geospatial software applications.
If you wish to get higher resolutions/DSMs for old data, follow these steps:
- Go to the download page of the flight you wish to increase the resolution.
- Towards the top of the page you should see a red diagonal arrow button:
- Clicking the button will take you to the new-export page, this will allow you to select various options about the new output:
- When you've selected the options you want, click "Send for New Export". This will submit it to our servers for the specified outputs and you'll be notified when the data finishes processing.
